Location

Morocco's stately architecture, scenic mountain villages, oasis, Kasbahs, valleys, and dramatic sand dunes, as well as the presence of excellent infrastructures such as airports and highways throughout the nation, make it an immensely sought-after site for the film industry.

Big projects like The Mummy, Gladiators, Black Hawk Down, Kingdom of Heaven, Body of Lies, Inception, American Sniper, John Wick, or well-known shows like Game of Thrones, Vikings, Prison Break, Homeland, Cleopatra, and others were shot in part in the kingdom.

Throughout the years, Marrakech's environment has inspired numerous international filmmakers who have shot some of their blockbusters here, including Sex and the City 2 (at Taj Palace and the UNESCO protected Djemaa El Fna), Mission Impossible -Rogue Nation (at the Marrakech Stadium), Tyrant (at Namaskar Palace), Hideous Kinky (at Djemaa El Fna), The Man Who Knew Too Much or Oliver Stone’s Alexander where the Mamounia and its lavish gardens are screened.

Marrakech's appeal extends far beyond its picturesque scenery. Filming here is ideal for a number of reasons, including its proximity to Europe, sophisticated film infrastructure, reasonable production costs, and endless sunshine. Producers may access locally well trained technical crews who are fluent in various languages, including English, Spanish, French, German, Mandarin, Arabic, and Berber, along with a multiethnic population as extras.

Marrakech boasts an international airport, effective health infrastructure, several hotel categories, local service provider organizations, and various transportation and catering vendors.

The city charmed with its rich history, architecture, and culture, where traditionalism and modernity harmonize and compliment each other is the perfect source of inspiration and place of execution combined.

It is also worth noting that Marrakech is recognized for its vibrant nightlife, which includes everything from exquisite drinks, piano bars, and fine dining experiences to laid-back café bars with live music and avant-garde nightclubs with international DJs and performers.
